Privacy Policy
Effective: May 24, 2026
PinLyve ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the PinLyve mobile application (the "App"), how we use that information, and the choices you have about it. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information you provide: email address, password, display name, city, and (for Business Members) business name, category, address, phone number, website, hours of operation, description, and logo.
- Content you submit: events you post, photos you upload, reviews you write, businesses you save or follow.
- Payment information (Business Members only): when you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not see or store your full card number. Stripe shares limited information with us such as your subscription status and the last four digits of your card.
- Automatically collected information: device type, operating system, app version, approximate location (only when you grant location permission and only to show events near you), and basic crash and error logs.
- Communications: messages you send to our support email and your responses to any in-app prompts.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the App, including showing you events, businesses, and reviews relevant to your area.
- Create and manage your account, authenticate you when you log in, and let you reset your password.
- Process subscription payments for Business Members and manage trial periods.
- Send you transactional messages (account confirmations, password resets, receipts).
- Respond to support inquiries.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share information only with service providers we rely on to operate the App, and only as needed:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage) — stores your account, profile, posts, reviews, and uploaded images.
- Stripe, Inc. — processes subscription payments.
- Apple and Google — if you choose to sign in with Apple or Google in the future, those providers will receive limited authentication data.
We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users.
4. Public Content
Anything you post publicly in the App — events you create, business profiles you publish, photos you upload, and reviews you write — is visible to other PinLyve users. Do not post anything you wouldn't want others to see. Your email address and password are never shown to other users.
5. Location Information
The App uses your device's location only when you grant permission, and only to show you events and businesses near you. We do not continuously track your location in the background. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- Edit your profile (name, city, photo) at any time in Settings.
- Delete individual posts and reviews from your profile.
- Delete your account entirely from Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, business, posts, reviews, and saved events. Some information may persist briefly in backup systems before being purged.
- Cancel your subscription at any time. After cancellation, you continue to have access until the end of your current billing period; no refunds are issued for partial periods.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To make a request, email us at contact@pinlyve.com.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), Firebase security rules that limit who can read and write each piece of data, and password hashing handled by Firebase Authentication. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, business, posts, reviews, and uploaded images from our active systems. Limited information may be retained for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
9. Children's Privacy
PinLyve is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us at contact@pinlyve.com and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the App or by email before the changes take effect. The "Effective" date at the top of this Policy indicates the most recent revision.
11. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or about how we handle your information, email us at contact@pinlyve.com.
